FAQ & “good to know”
We are working on our FAQ Frequently asked questions & “good to know” information.
Here you can find some of the answers that we have for now.
Cleaning in Villa
The service is “a week cleaning”. Towels and linen are changed at the same time.
Bed linen, sheets and towels are provided, towels for indoor use and pool are provided. It is forbidden to use pool towels for beach.
Kitchen utensils, plates, cups, cutlery and kitchen ware in villa.
As a standard the villa is equipped with cooking and dinning ware for the number of persons the villa can accommodate. There will be pots and pans for simple cooking. There will be a bread knife and a small knife for vegetables. If you need more specialised equipment such as a sharp knife or potato peeler you might want to bring it with you.
Also tea-towels are provided. If there is no left-over dishwashing liquid, you can buy this in all supermarkets. Normally the previous visitors have left salt and pepper, but it is not provided by the owners.
Drinking and tap water
Crete has very good tap water in most areas, especially outside the larger towns. In some areas the water has a bit mineral taste. The water is normally clean and drinkable. If you do not want to drink the water where you are staying, you can buy bottled water in all supermarkets and kiosks. For babies, small children and elderly you should buy bottled water.
Toilets in Crete
The drainage in Crete and Greece for that matter is not capable of taking paper such as toilet paper. Therefore there are provided baskets in the WC’s for waste. Please use these as the drainage easily clogs up.
Restaurants and Tavernas
Several local tavernas assure food delivery and/or take away.
